A top Financial Services firm in Downtown Boston is aggressively seeking a Lead Java Engineer to join the FX Sales and Trading business. The team is in the early stages of a multiyear strategic growth initiative which focuses in maximizing market share and expansion into new and emerging foreign exchange markets and products/services. You will work closely with business users, developers and testers to build FX electronic trading, sales trading, and risk management trading applications.What You Will be Doing:
This is a hands-on software development position with leadership responsibilities. You will be responsible for developing global technical solutions supporting business operations, risk, regulatory and finance. The lead developer will lead small teams that develop and support current FX business applications, including responding to risk management and global regulatory reform requirements and supporting the business reporting databases. You will develop, re-engineer, and support multiple applications and will work with the other teams within the program to assure a smooth transition to future state.
What You Need to Have Done:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of experience in Financial Services, preferably: Capital Markets and Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Equity or Securities Lending.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Java, Oracle, PL/SQL
- Strong understanding of grid and cloud computing
- 5+ years of experience in Messaging middleware including IBM MQSeries, SonicMQ, ActiveMQ; knowledge of complex event processing (Apama, IBM CEP etc.) a definite plus
- Thorough understanding of industry standard comprehensive risk and compliance framework like Algorithmics, POINT, Two-Four etc. Must be familiar with risk metrics including VaR, Stress, Sensitivities, exposures etc.
- Must have strong database skills including Oracle and working knowledge of DB2, Sybase and MySQL and imbedded db like TimesTen and distributed cache like extermeScale/ObjectGrid and BI/Reporting framework
- Must be familiar with build, release, continuous integration and code repository
- Must be familiar with SDLC utilizing RUP/Scrum etc.
- Must have experience with Web technologies, specifically JSP, Servlets, MVC and CSS.
- Proven track record developing and maintaining multiple applications with superior performance and availability.
