At our client a program 'Shop Floor Control' (SFC) has been started to support and improve the as-is and to-be manufacturing executing processes. In doing so SFC also implements a new and long term IT backbone for manufacturing. Currently two large projects run within the SFC program: Production Order Management (POM) and Detailed Planning.
The exact scope of this project will be defined after the initial deliverable of the project is delivered: the agreed roadmap. It is preferred that the full automated 2-way system is realized in a few steps that in themselves have added value (separate projects within the roadmap).
Position in the SFC program
The project leader interfaces to stakeholders of the project in different clusters/sectors eg the different Factories, Research & Development and IT, and on all levels.
Task Mission
The Project Leader demonstrates best-in-class Project Management skills to ensure an as smooth as possible implementation of the system in the Factories
Job Description
Defines the Project Roadmap
Defines and executes the project's Project (Management) Plan
Has full understanding of the power and need of Change Management/Communication
Ensures continuous commitment of the key stakeholders to make the project a success, by addressing them on their roles and responsibilities
Is fully at ease in working with senior and middle management, but also in working with operators, assemblers and testers
Manages and coaches the Project Team
Acts as 'sparring partner' for Project Leaders of other SFC projects and SFC Program Manager on project and program related matters
Does not only define and steer, but is also focused on the operational aspects of the implementation; has a hands-on mentality
Educational/Experience Level
The PL has a proven track record in the role of Project Manager/Project Leader in projects with a heavy IT component, in a (preferably technical) manufacturing environment and has a HBO/WO level.
Experience:
Has a proven Project Management track record
Has profound knowledge/experience of (preferably the PRINCE 2) Project Methodology
Has Change Management knowledge and experience
Has experience in working on projects in a technical discrete industry environment
Has experience in IT system implementation and roll-out
Has proven coaching experience
Preferably has experience/knowledge of MES and SCADA systems
Personal Skills
Able to convince, inspire and motivate people and cooperate with people on the shop floor up to and including higher management; good knowledge of both Dutch and English language; strong communication skills and drive to help realizing the project's business goals, whatever it takes.
