Software Engineer

Specific duties are:
* Responsible for the quality and reliability activities for Neuromodulation products that include software.
* Understand therapy (clinical) performance, product function(s), and product use environments to appropriately and strategically apply technical knowledge, reliability tools and reliability methodologies to drive reliability improvements.
* Drive the identification and proper collection of performance objectives, design requirements, measures and metrics. Implement to meet these criteria in collaboration with Design Engineering, Operations Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and other cross-functional partners.
proactively design in reliability and demonstrate that Medtronic NEUROMODULATION products/systems perform as expected in all use environments throughout their intended life; e.g.,
o Collect performance data - analyzing legacy performance
o Identify those risks associated with software
o Transform risk assessment and performance data into system or software requirements recommendations
o Ensure robust system and software design through design reviews and the application of other reliability techniques, such as FTAs and FMEAs
o Determine when product/system can be released, based on a software and system reliability perspective
o Analyze system and software test coverage, determine gaps, and feedback to Development
o When appropriate, design and implement reliability testing
o When appropriate, determine and implement reliability growth metrics
o Audit development process to ensure compliance as needed to assure compliance to organizational procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
Basic Qualifications

* Combined 10+ years of experience to include reliability, software development/ testing, and systems development/testing
* Experience in medical devices or other highly regulated industry, preferably implantable medical devices
* Exposure to or experience working in or with Design, Quality, and Operations
* Knowledge of DFSS, DFLS or DRM, and robust design practices
* Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge to drive reliability
* Knowledge of reliability tools and practices that effectively support requirements, design, integration and verification, and validation
* Knowledge of project management tools and techniques including activity, schedule, budget, and resource planning
* Experience in high-criticality ultra-low power systems.
* Experience working across geographies and cultures
* Experience leading organizational change.
* Understanding of RELIABILITY ENGINEERING principles, with ability to apply them
* Demonstrated CHANGE LEADERSHIP; passionate motivator, well-balanced coordinator with demonstrated ability to achieve breakthrough objectives and balance long- and short-term priorities
* Background in comprehensive product design and development (requirements analysis, concept development, subsystem and component design, systems integration, verification/validation, and operations and product support)
