Front End Developer

Description

Front End Developer - 3 Months rolling - London - £350-£400 per day

Based in the European Head Office the person will work in the Systems Development team. The selected person will be an articulate, well-rounded and focused individual. The person will be a self-motivated team player currently working as a Front End Developer for large, well-known organisation with demonstrable experience of Agile consumer website development, preferably in a creative or agency environment. The person will be working within a team of Java and Client-Side developers working on a major consumer facing website.

Skills & Experience
* Advanced proficiency essential in JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, HTML 4/5 and XHTML, CSS 3, XML. A good understanding of Struts and Tiles would be beneficial.
* Strong knowledge of analysis and design practices, and system development methodologies.
* Excellent understanding of dynamic web applications and request/response principles as well as structured granular content items in XML.
* Experience with JSP, JSTL but not essential
* Must be highly experienced in creating semantic, accessible mark-up, style-sheets and JavaScript to work cross-browser and cross-platform.
* A good understanding of object-oriented programming.
* Knowledgeable about upcoming technologies such as Canvas and SVG.
* Experience of project work in structured, multi-discipline development teams. Experience of working in Agile project teams.
* Should possess basic design skills and the ability to think creatively.
* Experience in enterprise-scale data driven web applications and content management systems would be very useful.
* Proficiency with source code version management practices and tools. Perforce experience valuable.
* Excellent oral and written business communication skills.

This is a 3 month rolling contract with a very strong possibility to extend for over a year!

The rate is £350-£400 per day and will be based in Central London.
