My client is a leading global financial institution. They are bringing bring their IT department back in house which has meant that they looking to add an experienced UNIX and Linux system administrator to this team. Opposed to commercial banking you will be working on business to business banking. This means that you will be dealing with large quantities of money on a daily basis. This means that you will grow your skill set in areas such as security and large transactional based internet banking. You will get have a very varied and interesting role.

The role and responsibilities:
- Installation, maintenance, configuration and support of Linux/Unix hardware and software systems.
- System and application support on the Linux and Unix systems and perform troubleshooting and systems-debugging tasks following documented procedures.
- Work individually and as part of a team on various system projects and provide technical guidance to the Operations team.
Minimum requirements:
- UNIX or Linux system admin experience (RedHat)
- AIX system administration exposure
Advantageous requirements:
- Experience of HP-UX, Solaris or Tru64 an advantage.
- Experience of BMC BladeLogic and RedHat Satellite Server an advantage.
- Experience if Tivoli Workload Scheduler, Hitachi JP1 scheduler, Tilovi Storage Manager an advantage.
