Description
Objective/Background:
You will join the Capacity Management team at this international bank. The team ensures that the capacity of the IT infrastructure (current and future) matches the evolving demands of the bank in the most cost effective and timely manner.
The Capacity Management process covers the following areas: capacity planning, demand management, capacity operations, capacity and performance engineering, capacity management infrastructure.
Tasks:
Capacity operations:
- Daily monitoring of the performance and capacity of the Windows & Unix systems and services.
- Identification and Investigation of capacity and performance issues.
- Report in a comprehensive manner and propose mitigating actions to the teams in charge of the Windows & Unix systems or services.
Performance Engineering:
- Participate to Project Business Cases, assess the feasibility of the proposed solution and make recommendations on the Design of Windows & Unix applications and services.
- Participate in Performance testing, analyse the performance data, propose changes to optimise resource usage and performance.
- Validate Business Requirements and make recommendation on the sizing of the infrastructure.
- Build capacity models to correlate Business Volumes with Resource utilisation and Service levels.
- Participate in writing the Performance and Capacity Test Report.
Capacity Planning and Infrastructure:
Contribute to the delivery of the Yearly Capacity Plan, Risk Matrix and Monthly Capacity Reports.
This will require an in depth understanding of the Business Drivers and Service Level Agreements on the bank's Windows & Unix platforms.
Essential Skills:
- Expert in Windows and UNIX systems (hardware, operating system, databases, Middleware).
- You have experience in performance analysis on these systems (Windows, UNIX, SQL, Oracle).
- You are familiar with the capacity management process.
- You are team oriented, willing to share knowledge with your colleagues and with a Continuous Improvement mindset.
Nice to have skills:
- SAS programming.
- SAN and NAS solutions
- Ideally you will have work experience in the Banking sector.
