Job Mission
The System Test Architect/Engineer takes the technical lead in the integration of multiple subsystem deliveries into one complete system. He/she defines the optimal integration strategy to achieve this goal and contributes in the execution of this strategy on one or more platforms. Integration is done on both functional level and on performance level of the key performance indicators of the clients systems (throughput, overlay, focus etc.).
Job Description
* Define integration strategy: which items are needed in which order to perform stepwise integration into one system
* Coordinate intake of subsystem deliveries done by teams on that level
* Report on system integration progress on performance level.
* Contribute to the analysis of system issues that have been found during integration testing
* Define - both short and long term - solutions for system issues found during integration
* Optimizing integration efficiency
Education
Technical MSc or PhD
(Physics, mechanics, electronics)
Experience
* Knowledge on system level of complex systems
* Experience in the definition of integration strategies of complex systems
* 8 years of experience in the field of system integration (of which at least 3 years of experience on system level of complex systems)
Personal skills
* Analytically strong, enthusiastic, flexible, assertive, proactive, structured
* Ability to interface/cooperate with different people on different organizational/technical levels
* Ready to be employed at least 2 years
* Ability/willingness to attend additional courses
* Ability/willingness to work at local sites for short periods (appr. 2 weeks/year)
* Being a strong communicator is very important
* Demonstrably structured worker
Context of the position
Within the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification and the design of the clients products.
The department System Integration is responsible for the integration of modules to a complete system and proves that we can meet the specifications set by System Engineering. The outcome is a System alfa-test report.
Within the SI department the group System Engineering is responsible for definition of the integration logic of the system being integrated. This includes the definition of the dependencies on high level as well as the details of the integration steps that come from this definition. Focus in these activities is the technical contents of the integration work. Reporting and overview of integration is a logical part of this work and is included as well.
