Description

Our client is an entity of a leader Telecom Group that deals with the creation, production, purchase, and exploitation of audiovisual content. This content is offered on the Telecom's Group TV and broadcast on its own channels, which are exclusive to the TV platform.

Our client produces and broadcasts Belgian and International football, and Belgian professional basketball, among other things. The exploitation and promotion of content in the Video On Demand catalog are also core tasks of this innovative, dynamic subsidiary of the Group.

Our client currently provides over 700 live sports competitions per year and broadcasts on three linear TV channels. The Video On Demand catalog with over 2,000 movies is also managed by the company.
All of this is done in the two official languages.

They are looking for a Cisco Network Engineer who will support the IT Broadcast Engineer

The Cisco Network Engineer will be accountable for the operational support of the internal LAN infrastructure and network

Duties and Responsibilities:

Incident & Problem Mgt
Is accountable for the stability, availability and quality of the Belgacom internal LAN infrastructure
Provide expert knowledge to solve complex incident or problems.
Implement improvements procedures and processes to resolve incidents more efficiently.

Maintenance: service availability/quality
Organize the second line support ensuring minimal downtime and customer impact and an efficient use of resources.
Follow up and execute planned interventions
Explore the functionality of the LAN infrastructure in order to continuously improve the network availability, stability and quality.
Define and implement action plans related to the enhancement of key tools, systems, procedures and processes.

Projects & upgrade
Is accountable for the seamless implementation/upgrade in production according to quality standards
Is the operational single point of contact with engineering and business partners

Profiles

Knowledge/Experience

Several years of hands-on experience in large campus networks and datacenter environments
Strong knowledge of Cisco Switches and Router configuration, Cisco 6500 series and Nexus in particular
In-depth knowledge of IP routing, BGP, layer 2 and 3 technologies
Hands-on experience in Infoblox DNS & IPAM
Cisco certifications are preferred
Understanding of ITIL concepts
