Description

For one of our clients we are looking for Semantic Storage Expert

Join the top team for semantic storage and help us ride the adoption wave across publishing, media, pharma, government, cultural heritage and telecoms.

You will work with a high-performance, enterprise-ready, standards compliant RDF database that has seen unmatched adoption in high profile show-cases, e.g. BBC Sport Website for dynamic aggregation of content, numerous popular SPARQL endpoints, searching clinical trials, for financial publishing and many others. The penetration of this technology into areas once dominated by relational databases continues rapidly.

The client is expanding his team with experts in one or more of the following fields:
• database theory, storage systems, indexing techniques
• query answering, optimisation strategies
• Semantic Web, RDF, XML
• logics, automated reasoning, OWL, RDF(S)
• Java experience preferable, but not essential

Some of the more interesting activities for this role include exploring hybrid approaches for data management that combine RDF systems with full-text search and natural language processing. The role will also include contributing to the EU funded research project 'Linked Data Benchmark Council' – a high-impact project where some of the leading vendors and experts in the field of RDF and graph databases join forces in an industry-wide initiative aiming to become as important for the development of RDF databases as the Transaction Processing Council (TPC) is for relational databases. Therefore the ideal candidate will have experience participating in national or European funded research projects.

Location: We anticipate hiring someone to work remotely, so relocation to Bulgaria is not required. However, the successful candidate will be expected to travel to research project meetings and make occasional visits to the company headquarters in Sofia. Preferred home location is UK, but not a must.
