The Company:A reputable international company with the offices in Malta is currently looking for a talented Software Developer. The selected candidate will form part of the existing large software development team, and will be reporting to a team lead or senior software developer.
The Role:
Among the main responsibilities assigned to the selected candidate will be developing front-end components for web based systems using HTML, CSS, widgets and JavaScript frameworks and integrating to a Java backend.
Responsibilities:
Building multi-user systems that will support hundreds of users
Building together with the team of developers prototypes and functional systems based on a series of wireframes and mock-ups
Following coding standards, building appropriate unit tests, integrating tests and deploying scripts (JavaScript Unit Testing and Rapid Prototyping)
Translating designs and style guides provided by the UI/UX team into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance
Suggesting improvements to user interface, front end software architecture or new technologies
Helping other team members with issues they may encounter ensuring team effectiveness
Key Skills & Attributes:
Expert knowledge of JavaScript, various JavaScript libraries and micro frameworks (jQuery, KnockoutJS , AngularJS, BackboneJS etc.), HTML5 and CSS3
Experienced with front-end template engines
Excellent knowledge of responsive web development and progressive enhancement
Experienced in development of high-volume and/or high-availability web applications
Knowledgeable in building web pages for mobile devices
Experienced in backend web server technologies such as tomcat, httpd, Java, Groovy and Perl
Experienced in enterprise level tools such as source control and continuous integration servers
Excellent communication skills
Team-worker
Fluent in English
