Senior IT Infrastructure Architect
Function Description
Within the Solution Design & Implementation (SDI) Team, the IT Infrastructure Architect addresses the design and architecture for business and cross-technology projects, focusing on both functional and non-functional requirements regarding IT infrastructure. The IT Infrastructure Architect works in full collaboration with project managers, sponsors, stakeholders and other Engineering teams, translating business requirements into technical, process- and tooling-related IT solution specifications. He ensures a proper participation in project intake, scoping, conception, design and further follow-up.
Key figures: 210+ business & cross-technical projects handled yearly by SDI, with multi-million IT infrastructure investments
As IT Infrastructure Architect you will:
Assess the impact on IT infrastructure, processes and organization of company project proposals
Interact with project sponsors and project managers to refine project objectives, budget and cost-benefit analysis
Interact with experts regarding the translation of business requirements into technical IT solution specifications
Design and document technical solution strategies and architectures fulfilling complex business requirements
Align with support teams regarding the definition and application of non-functional requirements for the solution to be delivered (including alarming, end-to-end service monitoring, business continuity, disaster/recovery, documentation, quality, performance management, support partners, service level agreements)
Provide input regarding the evolution of technological platforms, and contribute to the definition of appropriate IT strategies and roadmaps
Qualifications:
5-10 years experience and active participation in project design, architecture, scoping, and requirements analysis, preferably in a large infrastructure base
Technical background in, and experience with one or several technical domains: Database design, Middleware technologies (application Servers, messaging, etc), Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, Windows), Storage Area Networks, Clustering, Network, Virtualization & Consolidation, Security, Enterprise systems and applications (SAP, Siebel, Oracle, etc), Business Continuity, Load Balancing
Non-technical skills:
Project management experience and Budget (project cost structure, investments, operational costs)
Excellent oral and written communication skills (NL,FR,EN)
Presentation & trainer skills
Strong competencies: entrepreneurship, initiative taking, result-orientation, problem solving, priority setting, information & reporting, negotiation skills
