Summary:An Industry leading Investment Management firm in the Boston area is looking to make a critical hire for its core Development team. The team is looking to bring on an Intermediate level Java Engineer whom can grow into a Lead role within the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with business team, project managers, and systems analysts to review business requirements, functional specifications, and test plans.
- Participate in architecture, design, development, and implementation of new software components and applications based on functional specifications for Business Lines including Finance, Partner Services and HR.
- Work with other engineers on the team to design and implement application features, including user interfaces, and business functionality enhancements.
- Author design and support documentation.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years developing J2EE applications using JDBC and JMS.
- 3+ years of demonstrated database development and architecture experience.
- Java Web-Framework experience eg. Struts, SPRING or similar frameworks.
- Experience in relational database technologies including strong SQL skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of modern software development and testing methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write technical documentation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Financial experience is a plus.
