My client, one of the world's leading providers of financial services, is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst.

This is a contract role which will run for 6 months. There is a possibility that this role will be extended. The role is based in Galway. The successful candidate will be working as part of an agile team in a fast paced environment and will be responsible for design, development and maintenance of customer-facing applications including the company's web presence, fund pricing and other Intranet applications.

 Responsibilities:

  • Gathering of requirements and leading the systems design effort and documentation
  • To provide technical guidance, planning and test execution to ensure that complex projects meet quality standards
  • To ensure production verification and validation
  • Implement process improvements 
  • To effectively communicate and influence management and business partners
  • To provide technical leadership to junior team members 
  • On occasion may be required to present to groups and demonstrate various systems

Experience and Skills:

  • 8 years plus analysis experience within IT/financial services or related areas
  • Relevant academic qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Expertise in web applications
  • SQL expertise
  • Experience with agile development methodologies

Desirable, in all or some of the following:

  • Good experience of Rational Team Concert, Selenium, RQM and BPT would be advantageous
  • Experience with trading systems, mutual funds and shareholder sites is also advantageous
  • A strong understanding of the software process from analysis to problem resolution
