SOFTWARE ENGINEER (CONTRACT)We are looking to recruit a Software Engineer on a contract basis to join one of the leading providers of Street Lighting Remote Control and Monitoring systems. Our system utilises an in-house radio communication system to link street lights back to a central application allowing them to be managed in a sophisticated and energy efficient way.
The successful candidate will join a small team working on the replacement of one of our existing products. This will initially involve porting the existing embedded C application to a new ARM Cortex M based hardware platform. However the changes to the hardware architecture will necessitate re-engineering several key components. Also several new software components will be added to take advantage of greater hardware capabilities.
The initial phase of this development, and thus this contract, is expected to last until June 2014. However there is potential this could be extended as we look to add additional functionality to the baseline product.
You are likely to have all, or at least many, of the following skills and experience:
##A good engineering degree
##Typically 3+ years working experience
##A good working knowledge of C
##ARM assembler development
##Excellent problem solving skills
Additional technical experience in any of the following areas will be considered an advantage:
##RF systems and protocols
##Implementation of standard cryptographic routines
##Experience of developing for ARM Cortex M (or similar) class of micro controllers
You will:
