A Security Manager is required for a 6 month contract role based on a client site in Liverpool to start ASAP.

Essential skills/experience required:
Demonstrable experience of delivering as a Security Manager within a public sector organisation.
In depth knowledge of HMG Security Policy framework & ISO/IEC
An understanding of the CESG IA Portfolio
Experience of working with Boards, Directors and Senior stakeholders within a security role, providing advice, support and appropriate challenge.
An understanding of risk management including programme and project risk
Desirable skills would be any project and programme management or any previous experience delivering training and development in relation to security.

Role: To provide cover for the Business as Usual activities which will enable the current role holder to focus on the security aspects of the Client's Change Programme.

The client delivers BAU activities as well as delivering a significant change programme which includes changes in processes to respond to legislative challenge of existing policy, the launch of new products and services, transitioning to a new ICT provider and the delivery of a single structure across corporate services.
As the Security Manager you will provide day to day security services, provide support to the Head of Security, Managers and staff across the organisation. You will also work with suppliers and provide support to programme activities where necessary.

Key Deliverables include:
Roll out of the changes required to support the new Government
Roll out of the ISMS policies and procedures
Delivery of new EDRM system in conjunction with the Client
Alignment of information assurance and information maturing models in conjunction with Government initiatives

Duties include:
Manage the day to day security/IA function and maintain agreed targets for audit and compliance activities
Delivery of changes to support the implementation of new Government security classifications
Provision of security regarding information security risk management
Production of security and IA policies and procedures to ensure compliance to HMG central guidance and standards
Continue and enhance security and IA risk governance processes
The roll out of ISMS policies/procedures developing supplier compliance and assurance frameworks
Coach or supervise less experienced security staff
Identification of threats and vulnerabilities and develop plans to mitigate and manage them.

Please Note: Although the role is based in Liverpool, you may be required to travel Darlington and London for meetings on a fortnightly basis.
