Role - SQL Developer
Location - North London
Contract - End of June 2014 initially
A SQL Developer required with experience working on a Student Records System, initially till end of June 2014.
You will join a team and assist in the migration from Unit-e Oracle to SQL, ensuring that SQL reports and views are successfully migrated/tested and written.
You will re-write and test SQL views on the test Unit-e SQL system or migrate views from the Oracle system, and test and fix as appropriate.
You will test/fix/re-write Columbus/Unit-e/SQL reports, as appropriate, to ensure that all reports which currently run in the College's Unit-e Oracle system can be run in the migrated Unit-e SQL system.
Essential experience & skills required
A qualification in an ICT/MIS related subject and/or experience of working in an ICT/MIS development/administration/support role.
Has worked in a tertiary education environment.
Experience of migrating Oracle views to Microsoft SQL views.
Knowledge of, and exposure to, virtualised environments (preferably VMWare).
Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft SQL 2012.
Knowledge and understanding of the Capita Unit-e Student Records System
Writing queries in both PL/SQL and T-SQL.
Microsoft SQL Reporting Services
SSMA (SLQ Server Migration Assistant)
Able to write detailed Microsoft SQL scripts.
