Product Safety Electrical EngineerLocation: Irvine, CA
Duration: 6-12 month contract to hire

Job Summary:
This person will provide certification and testing services for manufacturers of electrical equipment to ensure safe products are available in the marketplace. This activity requires interpretation of standards, processes and procedures, and laboratory testing. Must have the ability to make technical decisions based on a high degree of knowledge, training and experience.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 3-5 years relevant work experience.
* A working knowledge of product safety standards: CSA/UL/IEC/EN , , and 60065.
* A working knowledge of laboratory testing techniques and measurements.
* A working knowledge of high tech circuit designs and analyzing electrical and electronic circuits.
* A working knowledge of NRTL certification process, CE Marking, CB Scheme, and Energy Star.
* Willingness/ability to travel (North America) - 10-20% of the time.
* Able to work unsupervised, in a team-based work environment.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* High level of interpersonal and communication skills; customer service skills.
