Position ResponsibilitiesTest Method Development
* Determine test requirements in collaboration with development engineers.
* Develop bench, anatomical and numerical models/methods as needed.
* Identify and evaluate improvement opportunities to the existing test processes and drive their implementation.
Equipment & Tooling Development
* Determine and develop equipment and tooling specifications for test methods.
* Design, develop and fabricate or select suitable equipment and tooling/fixtures for desired test methods.
* Lead equipment qualification studies (e.g., Installation Qualifications or IQ)
Test Method Validaton
* Study and characterize test methods during development
* Lead Equipment Software Validations, Operational Qualifications (OQ), and Test Method Validation activities.
* Incorporate DOE/lean sigma/DFSS/Gage R&R/ methodologies in test method development.
* Develop and document test methods
* Train test technicians on test methods
Verification and Validation Testing Support
* Lead test activities in a cross-function product development team to support product development from early stage concept development to product release. Clearly communicate testing plans / results to project teams and other cross-functional groups.
* Lead product design verification and design validation testing.
Basic Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (most preferred), Electrical Engineering, or Materials.
* 3+ years of experience using LabVIEW, TestStand, NI Hardware, and/or other test instrumentation in development of custom electrical and mechanical test systems.
* 3+ years of experience in revision control of source code files using a software tool such as PVCS Version Manager from Serena or Apache Subversion.
* Proficient with material and/or product fatigue testing.
* Experience with testing fixture design.
* Experience with Minitab, DOE and, Gage R&R.
* Pro/E or SolidWorks experience.
* Experience in test system software troubleshooting & debug skills along with a strong mechanical aptitude.
* Experience in a regulated environment, preferably FDA.
