Description
Our client, a well-known UK retailer, requires an experienced Financial Controller, with sound working knowledge of Commercial Finance to provide support for the in Finance Director during a period of staffing change.
The Commercial Finance team takes accountability for providing financial analysis, margin control and strategic reporting and planning, to ensure maximum profitability is delivered back to the business. The financial Controller will working closely with the Marketing function, providing key analysis, governance and control over the Return on Investment for all drivers. As such, the ideal candidate will need to have a thorough and in-depth understanding of the impact of marketing activity and spend within a retail business. Further to this, they will need to be able to strategically advise as to improvements and potential realignments to existing planning and procedures.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with notable experience of the following:
- Financial Analysis, Forecasting and Budgeting for a large retail organisation
- Team management and board level communications
- Providing commercial finance governance, from a strategic and planning point of view
- Developing and implementing Financial Controls
- Working closely with commercial business partners - Marketing Directors and similar
