Mechanical Engineer

Introduction:
Our client will introduce a new professional printer this year in a lead customer program with focus on time to market. This means that the design is not yet suitable for larger production numbers. R&D is responsible for the quality of the current produced machines. The next phase in the project will be design improvement to guarantee robust design working latitude. Next to that, the market requests for an extended media range.

Using available prototypes, test equipment and architecture and design documentation, the current design must be verified and optimized in order to guarantee and extend working latitude. The goal is to transfer the PDOP to manufacturing and service division in order to scale up independent of R&D.

Position's main tasks:
As a mechanical designer you form a part of a multidisciplinary project. This project is divided into modules, which are developed by multidisciplinary teams of approximitaly 5-10 people. In a team you are responsible for the mechanical and/or mechatronic aspects of the design.
For existing designs, you will analyse flaws and introduce improvements to improve robustness in a practical and pragmatic way. In discussions with the architects and designers, you define and translate the demands of the market and product into design specifications. Both model based and experimental verifications is essential to come to the right requirements and design. You're responsible for the proof of feasibility, design reviews and verification of the design.
Next to responsibility for your own design you are contributing to meet the project goals. A diversity of activities like product validation or organizeing proto building activities can also be part of your work. A pro-active, hands-on and result driven attitude is essential.

Need to have:
M. Sc. degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or matching engineering study or B.Sc. in matching study with relevant working experience.
