Infrastructure Architect - Design, Build and Implementation - Chester - Up to £730 per day
My client, a leading boutique infrastructure consultancy, are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join them as part of a team delivering an RFP for a multi-sourced Enterprise Compute Managed Service, from Requirements Engineering, through RFP Creation, Vendor Communication and Contract Negotiation.
This role will provide detailed content and subject matter expertise across a broad range of infrastructure elements for key components of the RFP such as Requirements, SLAs, OLAs & Service Provider KPIs.
The role will also provide input based on experience in order to challenge Vendor responses to get to the truth based on facts and experiential knowledge.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Assist in the facilitation of Requirements Definition for:
- Infrastructure
- Managed Services
- Target Architectures/Roadmaps
- Iaas and PaaS services
- KPIs for the performance of the Managed Services Provider and (potentially) Lead Service
Integrator in accordance with agreed SLAs and KPI
- Definition of SLAs and KPIs
- Selection/approval of staff for any key supplier roles identified
The successful candidate will have 10 years' experience in infrastructure architecture design, build and implementation. Experience of working with Vendors to define fit for purpose technology solutions and services. Will also have knowledge of commercial elements of service providers in the delivery of the operational services.

- Cisco network equipment (Nexus & Catalyst)
- Cisco SAN Switches
- Brocade Network Switches/Virtualisation
- Brocade SAN Switches
- Dell Servers
Exposure to Managed Service contracts and experience of Managed Services and seen both what good looks like and potential pitfalls.
