Job Title: Resource Manager/Capacity Planner

Location: Boscombe Down

Job Type: Contract

Resource Manager/Capacity Planner required for a leading global defence company based in Boscombe Down. To work within assigned engineering capabilities, a Capacity Planner is responsible for maintaining the best Capability view of current engineering capacity and providing a feedback loop into programme plans.

Primary responsibilities are as follows: 

- Identifying resource capacity, including capturing forecasts of early completion of task commitments. 

- Capturing periods of staff non-availability (for Capability reasons) and ensuring EPM is updated accordingly; 

- Identification of apparent gross anomalies in individuals forward load data (presented via EPM Project Web Access (PWA) and active resolution with programmes of most significant; 

- Negotiation with Programmes to identify options to resolve resource allocation issues; 

- Investigation and presentation of resourcing options (and associated impacts to existing commitments) for resolving urgent and unexpected tactical resource challenges. 

- Download of supply planning data from EPM (regular HOSC downloads/dash-boards); 

- Liaison with Planning identification and presentation of resource changes/evolution; 

- Maintaining watch on workload on EPM and identifying and verifying unexpected changes; 

- Support to Capabilities during Weekly Resource Allocation Sessions (RAS) 

- Assisting with local resource planning during bidding 

- Contributing to continuous improvement of Air Division Planning process.

Secondary responsibilities are as follows: 

- Cataloguing of re-useable bid estimates and strategies; 

- Support Create and maintain Capability information on corporate IT systems (including Share-point, SAP and EPM); 

- Assisting with succession plan updates; 

- Collating competence evidence and organising currency reviews; 

- Reviewing timesheet bookings and identifying anomalies; 

- Assistance with Recruitment and Onboarding of new starters;
