MS SQL - MS Acess - Excel - VBA - Oracle - Unix - System Support - System Development
I am currently recruiting for a System Support and Development Analyst on behalf of a council based in the South East. This is a contract role that will run on a rolling 3 month basis.
Duties and qualities
To develop new and support existing systems in pursuit of the councils and central Government initiatives.
Ensure that system functionality meets end-user requirements and service levels, assisting with all aspects of the developed system through the life cycle of the application.
Assisting with project life cycle support service consisting of user specification, procurement and assessment, implementation, integration, testing and release.
Provide a service of systems analysis, helping user departments to identify appropriate IT solutions to business needs. To actively seek improvements and keep up to date with current technological trends.
Provide support for packaged software and liaise with software suppliers and users. Provide maintenance support as well as enhancements to business systems. This will include working directly with software vendors to improve and expand the usability and efficiency of their products for the councils.
Design, write, test and document systems to agreed specifications and target dates, selecting the appropriate platform. Plan and oversee user acceptance testing so as to ensure that system requirements are met. Ensure that operational hand-over is provided and accepted by those parties responsible for the day-to-day operation.
Work with relevant technical contacts and users to plan the details of implementation and reversion, covering aspects such as data transfers, hosting, training and business continuity.
