Description:A scientist position is available in the Quality Control department with our Client. This scientist will participate in the analysis of drug products and their intermediates, and develop, qualify and validate analytical methods.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include routinely conducting several different types of assays including enzymatic assays, protein quantitation, endotoxin, ELISA, and SDS-PAGE; using analytical equipment such as HPLC, spectrophotometer, plate reader, pH and conductivity meter; preparing buffers, reagents, and standards for assays; planning orders for chemicals, consumables and other materials used in the QC lab; inspecting final drug products; following, updating, and developing standard operating procedures related to QC functions. Additional job responsibilities will include developing and overseeing the validation of multiple HPLC systems.
Qualification:
This position requires a M.S. or Ph.D. in biological sciences (biochemistry, biology, biochemical engineering or a related field). Practical experience in protein quantitative and qualitative analysis (protein characterization) is highly desirable. A basic understanding of recombinant protein expression is also important. For M.S. candidates, 3 or more years of industry experience in protein biochemistry with an emphasis on HPLC analysis are preferred. For Ph.D. candidates, 1 or more years of industry experience in protein biochemistry with an emphasis on HPLC analysis are preferred. HPLC method validation experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate should have demonstrated the ability to learn new techniques, possess strong written and oral communication skills, be self-motivated and organized, enjoy working in a team and be able to collaborate and interact with colleagues in different groups.
