Our client is seeking resumes for a SAN Administrator responsible for managing a large number of SAN arrays and Switches in the Distributed Systems group within the Information Technology department.  

Education:  4-year College Degree preferably in IT Technical/Professional

Skill Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of SAN Administration/SAN Engineering of Tier-1 Storage in a large-scale, 24/7 Enterprise environment
  • Extensive hands-on Storage management experience with HDS storage arrays:  HDS VSP, HDS HUS-VM and HDS HUS 150
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Hitachi CLI tools such as RAIDCOM and Hitachi CCI
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Replication technologies such as Universal Replicator, Shadow Image and Thin image
  • Extensive hands-on experience in storage task automation using Hitachi CLI, Perl and Shell Scripts
  • Deep understanding of Linux/Unix OS
  • Experience with Brocade DCX/
  • Extensive experience with disk management on Windows, VMware, AIX and Solaris
  • Extensive experience with SAN and storage management tools like HiCommand suite, Tuning Manager, Replication Manager and Brocade Network Advisor.
  •  Extensive experience with HDS HDP disk pooling and thin provisioning
  •  Working knowledge of SQL clustering, VMWare, Hyper-V, and AIX VIO
  •  Experience with multi-pathing software
  •  Experience with storage array and switch migration
  •  Experience with performance tuning of storage arrays and FC Switches
  •  TCP/IP and networking experience
  •  Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  •  Strong teamwork and customer support focus
  •  Ability to analyze, interpret, and simplify technical information, and clearly communicate this information to target audiences

Skills Preferred:

  •  Experience working with server and database technical teams
  •  Experience tuning storage and SAN environment
  •  Experience with VTL technologies
  •  SAN performance management products in a virtualized storage and server environment
  •  Experience with VMware clustering
  •  Experience using Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook and other Microsoft Office suite products
  •  Familiar with VMware clustering
  •  Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Experience managing storage in SAP environments
  • Experience with various software applications:  TSM, CommVault, or NetBackup

Responsibilities:

  • Install, manage, and monitor several multi-vendor, storage arrays and Switches
  • Allocate/Reclaim LUNs to various Servers as needed
  •  Migrate data to new arrays as needed
  •  Troubleshooting performance issues
  •  Performing disaster recovery operations
  •  Create configuration documents
  •  Scheduled 24/7 on-call support
