Geographic Information (GI) Senior Analyst/Solution Architect

Role: Geographic Information (GI) Senior Analyst/Solution Architect
Location: Reading
Term: 3 months initially

Our government client is currently recruiting for a GIS Analyst/Architect role based in Reading for 3 months initially.

Key tasks include:

*Development, authoring and management of SafeFME (2011 & 2013) workbenches
*Using Oracle SQL developer and ESRI ArcGIS - interrogate large spatial databases; production of key management spatial statistics and reports; both regular and ad-hoc.
*Responsible for ensuring all proposed solutions in relation to GI system development are practical, cost effective and timely.
*To understand the technical ETL and data problems, challenges and complexities relating to FME workbenches and provide a resolution.
*To undertake spatial data analysis/mining and interpretation of results for an array of purposes covering data quality, scheme compliance and requests for information.
*To assist in the development of effective and technically sound operational GI processes (using SafeFME + Oracle) that is consistent with policy objectives.

Experience Require

Strong experience of working with Safe FME server/desktop . Developing and authoring complex workbenches for enterprise GIS and running them in both a desktop and server environment.
Strong Oracle Spatial database skills (SQL and PL/SQL including 10g & 11g enhancements) and use of SQL developer.
In depth and demonstrable GIS software skills, proficient with cartographic presentation techniques, geodatabases, geoprocessing techniques, map layouts and methods for delivering effective map presentations using desktop GIS. ESRI ArcGIS 10.1.

Desirable

Experience of undertaking GNSS datacapture and post processing using Rinex data.
Proven experience and understanding of a wide range of spatial business requirements
Experience of using 1spatial (Radius studio/1validate & 1intergrate) for rules authoring data validation.
Programming experience using ArcObjects within a .NET development environment
Applicants hold relevant degree or equivalent in Geography; Land Management; Surveying; Geographic Information Systems/Science or relevant land/IT discipline.
