Key Skills Expected:

  • Embedded C and C++ programming experience
  • RTOS Experience (GHS Integrity RTOS experience preferred)
  • GreenHills Compiler experience (ColdFire Processor)
  • Safety critical application development experience (SIL, CENELEC, DO-178B Level A)
  • Embedded SW Engineer responsible for definition, development and maintenance of Real Time Embedded software applications for use in railroad wayside control systems.
  • Implement enhancements to the existing wayside Embedded crossing products and help develop new motion detection system software system.
  • Task also includes preparation of software test verification & validation plan, White Box test plan, unit test reports and execution of software unit tests.
  • Primary responsibilities include implementing software changes.
  • Secondary responsibilities include creation and/or execution of software verification test procedures based on existing/new software requirements.

Skills Needed:

  • Embedded software development for safety critical railroad signalling/crossing products.
  • Familiarity with software requirements life cycle, including definition, review, implementation, tracing, and verification.
  • Experience developing Real Time Embedded software in C/C++, and/or Assembly Language.
  • Experience with 68K, Coldfire, ARM, x86 or PPC microprocessors, and experience with Development Tools such as Green Hills Multi, Keil uVision, or Code Composer.
  • Experience with Embedded RTOS, such as uC/OS-II desired. Railroad, Aviation, Medical or other safety critical field experience desired.
  • Familiarity with Cenelec, DO-178B, FRA Rule 236 or other safety standards Skills using CM tools such as PVCS, StarTeam, or ClearCase.
