UX Specialist

About The Job: The Tactile Group is looking for a User Experience (UX) specialist who will challenge assumptions about users and information architecture. We are looking for someone who can collect actionable insights that drive us toward better experiences. We are looking for someone who can conduct field research one day, usability studies the next and make prioritized recommendations based on findings.   The work will range from early-stage formative research to post-release evaluations. The position requires finding a balance between applying different methods and quickly delivering high-quality results. The successful applicant will continually learn from users, think holistically, and share insights broadly across the company. This is a contract position over an eight-month span, which may include extensive travel.  

About You: 

• You are a problem solver.  You start by focusing on the user and what they need.  You use whatever tools you have at hand (interviews, surveys, user testing) to better understand the person using your products.

• You understand the fundamentals of design, usability and web architecture 

• You can take your ideas and translate them to reports, workflows, wireframes, and prototypes. 

• You have 3 to 4 years of experience. 

• You hold a BA or BS in a related field. 

• A Certified Usability Analyst or equivalent Certification may be required.

    Responsibilities:

• Working with designers, developers and key stakeholders to brainstorm and identify opportunities to better serve or delight our clients 
• Client Interviews 

• Heuristic Evaluations and Site Audits 

• Creating user personas and scenarios 

• Planning and researching usability and design for interactive projects 

• Collaborate with developers and other designers to create real solutions to real problems. 

• Measure and analyze user experience research (e.g. surveys, case studies, etc.) and testing to validate designs, get user feedback and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience.
