Description
Overall end-to-end design and certification of network devices and applications. This role includes virtualizating certain network functions.Responsibility:
- Subject matter expert within own discipline/specialty area and basic knowledge of other disciplines/specialty areas
- Applies in-depth knowledge of discipline/specialty area standards and processes to work
- Guided by project and work deadlines
- Uses discretion to complete assignments, independently applying knowledge of technical practices and specialty area standards
- Independently completes assignments and participates in projects of diverse scope
- Supports technical initiatives normally as part of a larger project
- Works on development of new technologies or maintenance of existing technologies
- Contributes to milestone completion of projects
- Cultivates good working relationships with peers
Required Skills:
- Expert Network Design
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP concepts
- Must have expert understanding of and design experience with Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, LDP, MPLS)
- Strong understanding of switching concepts (VLANs, HSRP/VRRP)
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMWare, KVM, Openstack
- Develop and create test beds for evaluating SDN and VNF technologies in a lab.
- Expert Certification - Execute certification tests and create test reports
- Expert Test Bed setup
- Hands on experience with Cisco IOS and Juniper JunOS switching and routing hardware
- Hands on experience with testing equipment such as Spirent or IXIA is required
- Understanding of IPv6 and experience with IPv6 implementation
- Server OS background is needed - Linux
- Network troubleshooting skills
- Good Documentation skills
- Knowledge of creating deployment guides, methods and procedures and troubleshooting guides
- Team player and ability to grasp high level instructions is very important

- Education: Bachelors/Masters in CE, CSE, EE or CS
