Description

- Responsible primarily for the programming and analysis of external healthcare databases (e.g. health claims data, national health databases) to address internal client needs for information on disease epidemiology, medical product utilization, treated natural history, and comparative effectiveness

- Plan and execute statistical tasks and analyses for assigned projects, including the preparation and maintenance of analysis plans, examination of data, performing statistical analyses, and ensuring quality - controlled production of tables, listings and graphs while adhering to project specifications and timelines

- Interact with IS group regarding technical (hardware, software) requirements and procedures and maintenance of the data archive (e.g. intranet site)

- Complete activities in compliance with all relevant regulations, ICH, PhRMA, and CFR guidelines as well as all policies, and procedures (ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, and general business policies, requirements and objectives)

- MS statistics, epidemiology or statistics-related field required

- Expert SAS programmer

- Experienced in analysis of observational and longitudinal data

- Experience with healthcare databases (e.g. automated health claims, electronic medical records, SEER)

- Pharmaceutical industry experience or relevant experience in an epidemiology setting (e.g. academic, public health)

- Knowledge of health outcomes research and/or comparative effectiveness research

- Statistical technical expertise with observational data including methodology, analysis, and design

- Statistical expertise with regard to at least two of the following: survival analysis, categorical data analysis, multivariate analysis, longitudinal analysis, meta analysis, data mining, reliability
