Description
The Firmware test engineer is responsible for developing and executing firmware unit and integration test cases for handheld blood glucose meters for meter development projects within Roche Diabetes Care R&D group.Responsibilities include:
* Development and execution of unit and integration test cases in accordance with departmental procedures for blood glucose meter medical device development.
* Developing firmware on occasion
* 3+ years of progressive work experience in firmware development and/ firmware testing. Demonstrated experience in complex technical projects
* Strong knowledge of C for embedded device development.
* Strong knowledge of test development and testing of embedded system firmware
* Strong system engineering skills.
* Strong experience with use of instrumentation and debugging tools.
* Good knowledge of use of RTOS for embedded applications.
* Applies engineering principles in a broad range of technical assignments, making independent decisions based on sound reasoning and analysis.
* Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
* Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
* Safety critical product development.
* Development experience in medical device or other regulated industry products.
* Model based firmware development.
* Knowledge of Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy and USB
* Handheld device development or devices with displays.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or closely related discipline is required
* Advanced degree within same discipline would be a major plus
