One of our prestigious clients is curreently looking for an embedded software engineer to work on our range of radio handsets and infrastructure equipment. The successful candidate will already be working in a telecommunications or related environment, and be looking to build on their existing experience by working across the full development life-cycle on product focussed projects.Description of Job:
Production of design documentation
Coding and component testing
Integration Testing
Issue investigation and problem resolution
Involvement in full software development lifecycle
Participation in reviews
Skills & Experience (essential):
Experience of at least one wireless telecoms standards (layer 2/3) and its implementation.
Supporting skills:
Experience of embedded software development
Experience of real time systems
Comprehensive understanding of the C programming language
Experience of software testing (automated component, and integration)
Experience of using configuration management and fault tracking tools
Experience of UML design (ideally using Rhapsody)
Extensive experience in all areas listed above is not necessary
Any experience is likely to have been gained on a number of projects over a period of at least 2 years
Personal Attributes (essential):
Structured in his/her working practices with a practical understanding of quality software development processes
Good communication skills
UK security clearance will be required
Degree qualified or with equivalent practical experience
