Ecommerce Architect - £80k - £100k (Plus attractive BONUS) - London (Permanent)

My client was one of the 1st global retail organisations to identify the transition of how customers consume products and engage with brands. They are now very much at the forefront of the market and continue to create innovative ways for their clients to trade across multiple channels. We now have a generation that has grown up knowing nothing but the internet. They are always connected across multiple devises, and my clients' ethos is very clear; a successful retail business now very much depends on the customer experience across multiple channels allowing products and services to be assessable there and then.

Key skills needed for the role:

- Experience of the full software development life cycle delivering web-based systems in a Java based environment over multiple complex implementations.

- Experience of architecting software solutions with demanding non-functional requirements such as performance, high availability, reliability, security etc.

- Extensive previous Java development experience.

- Knowledge of a wide range of Java open source projects and components.

- Excellent knowledge and understanding of object oriented design techniques and patterns.

- Knowledge of several standard software development methodologies.

- Knowledge of integration patterns and technologies (for example, Websphere MQ, Mule or other ESBs).

- Client interaction experience, including experience of running workshops with clients.

Desirable Skills for the role:

- Retail or eCommerce experience.

- Experience of at least one major eCommerce platform (e.g. ATG, IBM Websphere Commerce, hybris, Demandware).

- Expertise in search / navigation and merchandising solutions (e.g. Endeca, Fredhopper, Omniture Merchandising / Mercado).

- Experience of Order Management systems such as Sterling Commerce.

- Database design experience.

- Network / infrastructure design experience.

- Experience of enterprise architecture definition.

Further Details

As the architect it is essential to have experience of the full software development life cycle, delivering web-based systems in the Java based environment. You will also need experience in working within a team and being able to identify technical project risk at an early stage.

The salary on offer for the eCommerce architect role is extremely competitive (up to £100k) and there is a generous benefits package to complement this.
