Description
The Safety Manager is responsible for initiatives and tasks within the area of safety at a detailed level and also at the system level, short and long term, within our gas fleet managed from our office in Oslo. The work involves analytical, strategical tasks as well as ensuring the necessary changes through practice onboard. The Safety Manager is also Project Manager for a global three-year safety initiative globally across the fleet management. The selected candidate will be given additional responsibilities based on skills and experience from the following:Responsibilities:
- To build the company's safety culture and act as the company's leading resource on safety in all aspects
- To drive performance improvement within HSSEQ and initiate/participate in improvement and development work within the organization based on system monitoring and analysis
- Be the company's main resource on incident management, including investigations
- Oversee that the activities of the Company are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations and Company policies related to HSSEQ
- Initiate and organize campaigns as necessary
- Arrange regular safety meetings in office (ship focus)
- Manage and lead the Incident Committee
- To prepare and implement short and long term plans for safety improvement
- Conduct internal audits in office and onboard
- Conduct training onboard
- Act as backup for Marine Superintendents when required
- Take charge in giving a systematic, efficient and timely experience feedback to vessels for issues related to responsibility areas, with particular focus to safety
- Be familiar with applicable national/international rules and regulations, industry requirements and advice Management accordingly
Qualifications:
- Familiar with applicable national/international rules and regulations and industry requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
- Technical/operational skills related to ship operations
- Good command of the English language, oral and written
