Overview:
Great opportunity to work for a rapidly growing organisation based in the Bristol/Bath area that is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to work within the Business Intelligence team. The role will involve managing the development of the Data Warehouse and providing insight into improving existing controls and processes surrounding the data warehouse.
You will be working for a genuinely innovative and stimulating organisation that provides ample chances of career progression. The company has experienced growth on growth despite recent national economic hardship which has lead to vast expansion catalysing the requirement for this role.
Successful candidates will have a real passion for data analysis and querying data. Preferably this would be within a SQL Server environment. They should also be proficient in the use of Business Objects and experience in other Business Intelligence tools would be advantageous. The Data Analyst should have a strong knowledge of the project lifecycle and experience in various project roles would be desirable especially as a BA.
Key skills and experience:
- SQL (earliest 2008) / VBA experience
- Strong Business Objects experience is ESSENTIAL
- Director experience would be useful
- Experience of dealing with interactions between development team and end users.
- You will have a strong project background [preferably Business analyst experience] as the role will sometimes require the analyst to get heavily involved with the lifecycle of the project
- Analytical, flexible and able to problem solve
- Able to work on your own initiative
- Able to question internal and external customers, in a customer focused manner and able to actively listening
The job role of a Data Analyst
- Receive project requirements from a variety of differing sources and methodologies and decipher these into clear and concise detailed requirements managing these through to implementation.
- Some involvement with the various support requests which come into the Business Intelligence team by liaising with our development teams and ensuring an accurate and timely response.
- Receive and process information utilising the SQL,BO, Excel V-Look up, dashboard's, Macro's and Pivot table functions.
