Description
Our Client in Zurich is seeking a Migration Engineer.Main tasks/activities:
· The engineer will be part of a team migrating Splunk version 4 to version 6.
· Engineer Splunk 6 components
· Build packages in Linux RPM Format
· Create and execute manual and/or automated tests
· Check Firewalls
· Updated / adjust current code fragments in Bash, Python and Java
· Code reviews with feedback
Education:
· Bsc / Msc in Computer Science or relevant working experience
· 3+ years in IT Systems & Software Engineering
· Experience working in a large enterprise
systems/programming languages/databases:
· Unix, Linux /At least one Object Oriented Language (e.g. .NET, JAVA, C++, etc.) /
· Log management know how (Splunk preferred)
· Understanding of networks, code versioning
· Experience in the area of security in general
languages
· Very good English skills (able to negotiate / communicate with stakeholders)
· German is an advantage, but optional
social skills
· Good communication / negotiation skills
· Team-oriented
