My client, a large non profit in D.C. is looking for a Solutions Architect to join their small, tight knit team. This role requires a thought leader to provide high level technical architecture and to drive design and build of business applications and supporting functions based upon identified business requirements and use cases. This architect will need to balance standard design practices and methodologies with the business need for rapid solution delivery. This person also serves as an escalation point for reported recurrent issues or problems from internal and external customer providing advice on remediation through architecture, plug-ins, upgrades, extensions, etc. The individual in this role also needs to have an advanced knowledge of the Enterprise Architecture and Business Architecture.Responsibilities:
*Lead the design of business capability solutions including applications and services that fall within several domains *Develop innovative solutions
*Define systems scope and objectives, identify systems interfaces.
*Review technical specifications and design, develop and enhance software programs and applications.
*Serve as technical liaison and subject matter expert in customer interactions.
*Investigate new technologies and make recommendations regarding appropriate usage.
*Create modeling diagrams such as system, data, infrastructure, etc. for use in development of products or services. *Review technical requirements and functional specification documents for clarity, completeness, and implementation challenges.
*Provide input to CSSD teams on Level of Effort estimates.
*Mentor others on architecture and design skills and concepts.
*Actively work to streamline processes with the goal of speeding delivery to the customer while balancing risk management objectives.
Qualifications:
*5+ years developing software using relevant languages and Microsoft technologies
*3+ years architecting enterprise scale system solutions
*5+ years of professional design and implementation of small- to large-sized solutions and services
*Understanding of core relational database concepts such as normalization, relational integrity, & transaction management
*Broad working knowledge of web browser interface protocols and design (HTML5, AJAX, XML), business process management (marketing and back office workflow engines), ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Oracle), Enterprise Content Management (SharePoint, Box.net, records management), and Service Oriented Architectures (Oracle Middleware). *Ability to work with external clients and line of business application users
*Good methodology for conducting independent research when exploring new design solutions
*Strong experience with traditional and agile software development life cycles
