Senior Geotechnical Engineer

We are recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to join an international engineering consultancy that is expanding their UK operations to accommodate increasing demand from a solid client base, which includes many of the UK's premier civil and building contractors.

Responsibilties
  • Working as member of a project team to deliver quality services to clients
  • Ensures all geotechnical designs are in accordance with set standards and all recommendations are robust, value-based and commissionable
  • Ensures that designs are delivered on time to our clients and that the design fulfils the client's brief
  • Inspects construction work and ensures that all aspects of design are correctly implemented
  • Monitors processes and results and ensure that they comply with relevant safety, legal, ethical and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to make appropriate judgements and decisions and exercise initiative
  • Assisting at tender stage of projects


Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years Experience in the field of geotechnical works
  • Technical knowledge and design experience of core geotechnical elements including shallow and piled foundations, retaining walls (gravity and embedded), slopes and earthworks as well as ground investigation works
  • Proven ability to use relevant industry standard software (FREW, SlopeW and ALP or similar programmes)
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualified and experience of working on rail projects including Network Rail Forms F001/2/3 procedures is desirable
  • Experienced & confident with report writing and presentation skills
  • Degree qualified (minimum 2:1) in relevant field and achieved/working towards chartered status
  • Conversant and adheres to all Codes of Practice, Design Standards and Health and Safety Regulations
