An industry leading, global asset management firm is bringing on a Senior Java Swing Developer to help lead its existing development team within trading. The firm's trading team is growing their development team and is looking for highly motivated developers to make an immediate impact.Developers on this team interface directly with traders to deliver innovative solutions and leverage technical trends in the financial industry. By working collaboratively with traders, you will gain valuable financial investment insight into the financial markets and help the firm continue to improve and evolve its trading capabilities.
Below are the specific skills that the firm is looking for in this person:
* Four to Six years experience as a Java Swing Developer. Advanced level Swing is highly desired (i.e. JTables)
* Experience developing Java GUI for trading or investment applications
* Strong knowledge UI frameworks and UI framework design
* Knowledge of third party swing libraries such as JIDE
* Keen eye & passion for UI design
* Mastery of layout managers, tables & actions
* Strong knowledge of MVC design pattern
* Experience creating custom look and feel
* Exposure to internationalization, formatting & UI validation techniques
* Strong knowledge and experience with multi-threading as it relates to UI processing and performance
* Knowledge of Java and J2EE applications and frameworks
* Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies and their effective application
* Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting a business-critical production environment
* Computer Science degree or related field
