EMC Networker and Netbackup Consultant (NetApp, CLARiiON & Symmetrix)

Job Description for the position of EMC Networker and Netbackup Consultant:
Experience with a good understanding of Wintel and Unix server support at the enterprise level and at least 1 of the following areas:
- Hands-on experience on EMC CLARiiON, EMC Symmetrix, NetApp or other storage arrays
- troubleshooting knowledge on EMC CLARiiON, Symmetrix, NetApp, Cisco fabrics or other storage devices
Responsibilities:
Operating level knowledge in at least one of the following area - EMC DMX, EMC Clariion, Cisco or Netapp storage. Must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge, troubleshooting and problem solving skills in above.
- Ability to demonstrate basic understanding of SAN, fabrics and Host to SAN connectivity
- Ability to follow ITIL based incident management process - should be able to attend assigned incidents in the queue, perform resolution steps, escalate as required and provide updates.
- Participate in Change & release management
- Implement routine & normal changes
- Participate in CAB and TAB(Technical advisory Board)
- Raise change requests wherever required
- Knowledge about using ticketing system for daily operations - Service Center.
- Ability to participate in escalations as required
- Participate in project under the guidance of a Technical Manager
- Good communications, customer service & documentation skills, oral and written.
- Ability to perform basic storage operations - allocation or de-allocation.
- Ability to perform basic switch operations - create or modify zones.
- Monitoring of Storage hardware through vendor provided tools. eg ECC or DFM or SMARTS.
- Ability to execute scripts as per the documented procedure.
- Experience in working with vendors for incident troubleshooting.
- Ability to participate in root cause analysis
- Basic experience in use of Storage Management Tools, at least one of the following: EMC ECC or Netapp DFM.
- Basic understanding of local or remote replication.
- Ability to participate in execution of firmware upgrade under the guidance of a DTS resource
- Ability to use remote access tools - Windows Terminal services, Putty, or Citrix.
- Understanding of mid level Windows or UNIX administration
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Understanding about Monitoring tools configuration -SMARTS
- Good understanding of disk and volume management operations.
- Understanding of HBA install & configuration steps.
CERTIFICATIONS DESIRED:
- EMC Storage Administrator track
- Level - Associate or Specialist
- Specialty - Clariion or Symmetrix Solutions Netapp Storage Professional
- ITIL Foundations Certification (V3)
