Position: Development Engineer - Structural Engineering

Location: Yorkshire

Industry: Structural Steel

We are now looking to recruit an experienced Development Engineer to further strengthen this function.

As Development Engineer - Structures your responsibilities will include:

- The development of new products, with a particular bias towards structural performance, and ongoing development of existing products and accessories in accordance with an agreed Product Development

- Working closely with our Production Engineering, Logistics and Purchasing functions to develop robust supply chains and effective production processes for the developed design solutions.

- Provision and analysis of the developed design solutions across a range of 'value' dimensions, e.g. cost, manufacturing efficiency, sustainability.

- Preparation of validation documentation including calculations and test reports for internal and/or external substantiation of the design.

- Maintenance of an effective level of knowledge of current technological developments and identification and analysis of opportunities for new technologies within the business.

- Maintenance of an effective level of knowledge of all relevant current and imminent regulations, standards and codes of practice.

- Assurance of standard product compliance with agreed legislative, regulatory, HSE and quality requirements.

- Monitoring and control of product and project-specific development costs and the analysis of the cost, manufacturing efficiency and sustainability of developed solutions.
