Global media organisation based in West London are looking for a Senior Windows DevOps Engineer to design, document and build a proof of concept deployment for my clients web platform (Windows, IIS, SQL, MS FAST or SOLR)
PROJECT GOALS:
- Documented design and security patterns for use of authorised AWS Services
- Documented governance model for approval of, operational management, and financial management, of AWS services
- Documented ALM recommendations and detailed roadmap
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document, Design, Build and Management of systems hosted in cloud services, specifically AWS and Azure
o Responsible for responding to, diagnosing, researching and resolving technical problems, as well as proactively maintaining the platforms
o Process and standards documentation
o Planning for and responding to service outages and other problems
o Update and maintain general operational documentation
Develop and improve operational practices and procedures
Deploy monitoring technologies
Design, implement, and test disaster recovery capability for all business critical services
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
o Experience in design, build and support for systems hosted in Amazon Web Services
o Proven experience in medium/large scale enterprise environments
o Windows & Linux admin experience (90% Windows)
o Microsoft IIS 7.5+
o Microsoft SQL Server 2008
o Apache Solr experience
o Microsoft Active Directory
o Support of third party open source tools such as RabbitMQ
o Proficient user of multiple Scripting languages, Powershell required (Perl, Python, Ruby, VBScript, Shell Scripts, etc.)
o Automation/configuration management technologies.eg Chef and Puppet.
