Job Function: WebSphere Admin/Web Application Performance Consultant
Location: Greenwood Village, CO
Contract Length: 6months +
Contract Terms: W-2
Position Description: Able to analyze and determine root cause of issues related to Java based application. Ability to scrutinize an application release, determine its operational robustness. Must be proficient in current HTML standards and aware of the differences between all the HTML version standards as adopted by the W3C. Must be proficient in JavaScript, DHTML, and XML. Able to assemble and deploy Server Side Java enterprise application components on the web Application Server: including the following web resources, HTTP pages, JavaServer Pages (JSPs), Servlets, JavaBeans, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) and connectors. Knowledgeable of J2EE application development patterns.
Extensive programming/Scripting experience in Java
Extensive experience with at least one flavor of UNIX: Linux, Solaris, AIX, BSD, etc.
Fluency with commands and Scripting
Knowledge of how HTTP works
Networking knowledge: OSI layers, functions of Firewalls, Switches, Routers, load balancers, network taps
Knowledge of the inner workings of a Java Virtual Machine: garbage collection, memory layout, threading, stack
Ability to figure out what's going on inside a running JVM (using tools and knowing what tools to use)
Knowledge of modern web applications
o How to make pages load faster
o JavaScript
o AJAX/XMLHttpRequest
o CSS
o HTML
o Web service knowledge
o How session or other Server Side state is maintained
Experience with at least one relational database: Oracle, DB2, Sybase ideal; MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, etc.
"Conversational" in SQL
Requires 5+ years of related experience, and 3 years in J2EE application development.
Bachelor's degree preferred
