As an intern with the OurPet's Company, you will gain direct experience in graphic design through hands-on training and participation. The intern will assist our senior graphic designer with current marketing projects, including assisting with photo shoots and retouching, saving images to required specification for web, packaging layouts, creating package mock-ups, and general file organization and maintenance.

The intern will be required to live locally and have reliable transportation, as the work will be performed out of our Fairport Harbor Ohio location. Pay rate is $10 per hour and requires approximately 15-25 hours per week. The internship will begin in mid June, depending on your school schedule, and end in August.

We are a pet products company, and we do have a policy of allowing employees to bring in pets to work. There will be dogs/cats in the office so you will need to be pet friendly.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Must be enrolled as at least a junior year status in college (will confirm by graduation date) with a major in graphics arts, or a similar area of study
  • A strong interest in graphic design, photography, and photo editing
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. Microsoft office - excel, word, Powerpoint, and outlook all on Mac platform.
  • Strong hand skills with an X-acto knife for creating package mock-ups
  • Meticulous attention to detail, along with a diligent work ethic and desire to learn
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and be dependable as well as accountable
  • Will be required to work independently at times and meet deadlines
  • Willing to multi-task in order to juggle multiple projects at one time
  • Available a minimum of 3 days, 15-25 hours per week
