Our client are one of the world leaders in the energy industry. They are now using their years of experience to promote a cleaner, more renewable future for the industry.

With this in mind they are now looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer, specialising in electricity to come on board at their Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station to carry out the following role duties:

Job Summary/Description:

Electrical craftsman job purpose opportunities exist for a highly motivated and safety aware craftsman who have proven skills to join the Maintenance Delivery team at Ratcliffe on Soar Power Station. Alongside daily generation, Ratcliffe continues to deliver the environmental upgrade project.

Key activities:

*Commissioning electrical equipment as efficiently and effectively as possible
*Delivering routine maintenance
*Repairing defected plant in line with the nominated priority

Main responsibilities of role:

*Ability to use test equipment to fault find on electrical control and LV power systems
*Read and interpret electrical drawings and design specifications to ensure correct operation on electrical apparatus
*Fully trained on electrical actuators (Rotork) to diagnose faults and undertake repairs to return actuator to service
*Fully trained on a variety on HV switchgear to undertake routine maintenance and carry out repair work where necessary
*Familiar with electrical protection systems on motors and switchgear
*Fully trained on fault finding on low voltage control systems
*Use PLC to aid fault diagnosis and other bespoke software applications
*Undertake maintenance of HV switchgear and system apparatus having the ability to recognise faults and implement corrective solutions
*Work within E.ON safety rules in a safe and appropriate manner while understanding the scope of the work and its stated limitations
*Work within a team environment, be pro-active, a good communicator and have a desire to develop their attributes as technology and techniques advance

Key skill requirements essential:

*Completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
*Have a thorough understanding of health and safety responsibilities
*Familiar with safe systems of work including RAMS (risk assessments and method statements)
*To have an appreciation of the energy industry and power station operation
*Demonstrate a flexible approach and be willing to undertake any reasonable activity within your capability
*Computer literate, competent in the use of application key PC based computer systems

Desirable

*IOSH or NEBOSH

Health and Safety Requirements:

Preferred that the person has a current contractor's passport to safety, or that they obtain at own expense within the first four weeks of starting. The person should be aware of H&S issues relating to the power industry and have a good personal safety track record

Industry Qualifications:

The person should have a recognised apprenticeship in electrical maintenance
