My London based Public Sector client is seeking a Strategic Finance Adviser/CCAB Finance Adviser/
CCAB Qualified Accountant for a 5+ month contract.
The Strategic Finance Adviser/CCAB Finance Adviser/CCAB Qualified Accountant would be responsible for business planning, budget & risk management and performance reporting. Ensuring that top managers can base decisions on high-quality analysis & information, on the client's finances, resource allocation and performance management.
Key Tasks for the Strategic Finance Adviser/CCAB Finance Adviser/CCAB Qualified Accountant:
* Providing the Board, Executive Committee, the Project Resource Committee and other senior management groups with high quality performance management information & analysis. This includes providing Quarterly Performance Report to the Executive & Board as well as other reporting as necessary.
* Developing, implementing and maintaining the risk management framework within the organisation. This includes working with Directorates and Corporate Risk Owners to maintain an up to date Corporate Risk Register and delivering a programme of work to ensure the framework is Embedded in the client's working processes.
* Developing & managing the client's business planning process, ensuring that it is supported by good quality financial analysis, to produce succinct, clear business plans matched with annual budgets reconciled to available funding. To support the Head of Strategic Finance in re-forecasting exercises and variance analysis as necessary.
* Work closely with the Chief Accountant to provide strategic financial management information and advice to the client's management.
* The post holder will ensure that the client's budget is well managed so that the client uses its resources effectively, and remains within all relevant control totals.
* To provide secretariat support
Experience/Skills Required for the Strategic Finance Adviser/CCAB Finance Adviser/CCAB Qualified Accountant:
* The post holder will need to be CCAB qualified ideally, & have post qualification experience.
* Ideally the post holder will also have extensive experience of working in a central government department.
* Performance reporting at Board level
* Risk & risk management experience
