A large investment bank in downtown, New York City is seeking a Sr. Java Developer to join their fixed income group to work on a real-time trading and risk application. The application deals with multiple asset classes so you will be exposed to many different business areas.

This team has been growing tremendously over the past 4 months and is looking to expand their team.

The ideal candidate will have experience with:
-core Java
-Multi threading
-Knowledge of relational databases (SQL, Oracle, Sybase)
-E-trading experience

LOCATION: Downtown Manhattan
DURATION: 6+ Months
RATE: Very Flexible with Competitive Rates (W2 ONLY)

Job Requirements
Essential Technical Skills: * Strong core Java.
* Multi-threading
* Working knowledge of relational databases / SQL - Oracle or Sybase
* Unix

Preferable Technical Skills: * TIBCO Rendezvous
* Java Swing
* Familiarity with Bloomberg and Reuters financial systems
* Excel VBA

Education / Qualifications Req: (Prospective) Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, etc).

Background/ Work Experience Required:
Ten years core J2SE experience
Financial services experience especially in the Fixed Income & Derivatives product area highly desirable but not essential.
The candidate must however demonstrate strong commercial aptitude / awareness and have an appreciation of the business drivers for technology.
