Responsibilities and Challenges

The Supply Chain Management Interim Manager will work on customer projects.

The Supply Chain Management Interim Manager has a variety of duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and manage functional areas of Purchasing, Inventory Control/Logistics, Customer Service/Planning ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Build Organizational Capabilities through development plans, mentoring, driving accountability, cross training, and succession planning.
  • Responsible for establishing and executing Profit Plan targets for Gross Inventory, DOH Profit Plan, Stock Fill Rate, On Time Performance, Supplier OTD, Supplier PPM, Freight Cost, DPO, Cost Out, Customer Lead-Time and other key metrics as required by site and divisional leadership.
  • Responsible for managing and/or supporting supplier negotiations for direct & indirect material.
  • Establishing, managing and executing inventory strategy
  • Support the implementation of new products and processes.
  • Participate in development of plant strategic plans and align departmental goals by providing supply chain assistance and direction
  • Establish and maintain procedures for department.
  • Ensure site adheres to Supply Chain Policies and Corporate procedures and programs
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees through implementation of safety awareness programs and compliance with MESH, OSHA and similar regulatory requirements
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the IT system with expertise in the tools related to operations. Appropriate levels of this knowledge must be transferred to all subordinates as part of their personal development.
  • Ability to generate enthusiasm, commitment and performance from others to ensure a High Performance Work Team, support and leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to make good decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Two to four years of Supply Chain Management experience
  • Demonstrated Lean/Six Sigma principles utilized to drive continuous improvement
  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, shipping/receiving resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks on-time
  • Lean material management principles utilizing consignment, pull systems, Kanban, synchronized manufacturing, level loading, inventory modelling, JIT and MRP
  • Collaborative Leadership - ability to work with peers and subordinates in a constructive yet assertive manner to accomplish results
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills to collaborate effectively building a team consensus with the ability to influence others
  • Ability to articulate strategic business direction to all levels of the organization including the senior leadership team
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, project management and facilitation skills
  • Exemplary leadership and talent development/mentoring skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to drive cross functional improvement
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills
  • Ability to quickly attain Product/Process knowledge
  • Strong Business Financial acumen
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems
  • Demonstrated success with supplier negotiations
  • Fundamental concepts of manufacturing management and well versed in manufacturing best practices including single piece flow and batch production
  • Well-developed leadership, communication, training, facilitation, interpersonal, and computer skills
