Description
A top player in the investment industry, located in the Chicago Loop, is in need of a skilled Senior Java Developer to join its Agile Software Development team. Due to multiple new initiatives, this developer will need to create entirely new applications from scratch, and also add new functionalities and features to existing systems. This role involves full life cycle core server side Java and minimal UI development. The firm is seeking innovative problem solvers who are passionate and eager to learn new, cutting edge technologies.Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- 5+ years Java experience
- Skilled with Spring Framework or Hibernate
- Experienced in utilizing JavaScript, HTML, CSS (Modern JavaScript Frameworks are a plus)
- Tomcat, Maven, Jenkins experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of design patterns
- Agile Development experience
- Software development experience in the financial industry is a plus (an interest in working in the financial industry is important)
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and broaden skillset
