Description

We are looking for a midlevel WordPress Developer to join our team.

If you can handle HTML/CSS but prefer to spend your time server side working with PHP/MySQL, you’ve come to the right place.

Our dream developer has 3+ years of WordPress plugin development experience and ideally some experience with WooCommerce development. You should have a strong understanding of Object Oriented PHP and WordPress APIs. A desire to use Test Driven Development (TDD) in your future code and some experience with Backbone.js will make you an ideal candidate.

You’ll find this is your dream job, if you:
  • love a good technical challenge
  • care about quality
  • are good at figuring out problems and finding your own solutions
  • are hardworking but easy going
  • enjoy freedom and flexibility
  • get a kick out of working in a team of exceptional people, even though those people might be on different continents
  • think eCommerce and entrepreneurship matters
  • love being part of the WordPress/WooCommerce communities

  • About Us
Who are we? Well we’re a small but friendly bunch that loves eCommerce. We think WooCommerce is the best thing to happen to the web since WordPress and are dedicated to helping build the WooCommerce ecosystem. We love building software that gives entrepreneurs the tools and freedom to do what they love!

So far we’ve built WooCommerce Subscription, the largest and most popular independently developed plugin in the official WooCommerce extension marketplace. We also have a few smaller plugins, like PayPal Digital Goods and One Page Checkout.

But that’s just the beginning. We have some new products in the works, as well as Subscriptions 2.0 (a major release) coming up. We’re looking for a talented developer to help us with these exciting and challenging eCommerce projects.

We don’t mind where you live, because we’re a distributed company. HQ (and we use that term loosely) is in San Francisco, but we have people in Australia and Europe. We’ll send you along to WordCamps, WooConfs (http://conf.woocommerce.com/) and other relevant events, as well as the team meetup once per year in exciting destinations.

We have some pretty neat offerings, like:
  • a sliding leave policy (you start with three weeks and it grows to five weeks after you’ve been with us for five years)
  • your own Professional Development fund to cover the cost of self-guided learning
  • stock options, so that our company becomes your company
  • medical/dental/vision insurance if you’re in the US (if you are elsewhere, we’ll work out something equivalent)
  • fair pay and recognition - salary range for this position is $70-90,000 USD, negotiable with experience
  • autonomy and flexibility

  • Please apply by sending through a link to your LinkedIn profile (or similar), your GitHub profile and the two plugins you are most proud of. Feel free to include anything else you think we should check out too. We’re big believers in hiring by audition. Successful applicants will be offered a one month paid trial with a full-time position offered after completion of the trial period.

Please, no recruiters or unsolicited offers.
